Pricing
What Drives the Cost of Custom Denim
We quote every order individually rather than publish list prices, because the same style can vary widely in cost. These are the factors that move the number, roughly in order of impact.
Material
- Fabric weight and origin: selvedge and heavyweight denims sit well above standard midweight.
- Stretch and recycled content: a modest premium.
- Wash intensity: heavy distressing, whiskering and multi-stage washes add labour.
Construction and decoration
- Construction: five-pocket versus fashion detailing, chain-stitched hems, contrast bar tacks.
- Hardware: custom-engraved buttons and rivets versus stock.
- Branding: leather or jacron back patches, woven labels, hang tags.
Quantity
- 5-piece runs: setup and pattern cost is spread across few units; from around 50 pieces the unit cost drops materially.
- Size spread: many sizes in a small run means more patterns per unit; one or two sizes keeps it efficient.
