What Drives the Cost of Custom Private Label Clothing
We quote every order individually rather than publish list prices, because the same style can vary widely in cost. These are the factors that move the number, roughly in order of impact.
Material
- Base garment: fabric weight and construction drive most of the unit cost.
- Label type: woven damask and leather patches sit above printed labels.
- Packaging: printed boxes and mailers over plain poly bags.
Construction and decoration
- Decoration: embroidery, screen print, DTF, puff and applique are priced by size and colour count.
- Label count: neck, care, hem and hang tags each add a small per-unit cost.
- Retail prep: folding, sizing stickers, barcodes and pre-packing.
Quantity
- 5-piece runs: setup and pattern cost is spread across few units; from around 50 pieces the unit cost drops materially.
- Size spread: many sizes in a small run means more patterns per unit; one or two sizes keeps it efficient.
