Privacy policy

Last updated: 23 July 2026

DenimByte Ltd ("DenimByte", "we", "us") is a custom clothing manufacturer registered in the United Kingdom (Company No. 883537), with our team based in Dundee, Scotland. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use denimbyte.com, request a quote, order a sample or place a production order — and how we use and protect it.

Who is responsible for your data

DenimByte Ltd is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can contact us about anything in this policy at sales@denimbyte.com.

What we collect

  • Contact and business details — your name, email address, phone number, company or brand name, and delivery country, when you submit a quote form, use the sample builder, contact us, or message us on WhatsApp.
  • Order and specification details — the products, quantities, sizes, colours, branding requirements and delivery address for your quotes and orders.
  • Design files and artwork — logos, designs, tech packs and reference images you upload or send to us.
  • Payment and transaction data — handled by Shopify's secure checkout and our payment providers (such as Shopify Payments and PayPal). We never see or store your full card details.
  • Device and usage data — IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected through cookies and Shopify's platform analytics.

How we use your information

  • To prepare and send your quote (we aim to reply within 4 hours, Monday–Saturday).
  • To manufacture your order to your specification and send you production updates, including photo and video updates.
  • To arrange payment through Shopify checkout and delivery through tracked couriers.
  • To answer questions and provide after-sales support.
  • To keep records we are legally required to keep (such as tax and accounting records).

Under UK GDPR, we rely on: performance of a contract (quotes, orders, delivery), legitimate interests (responding to enquiries, improving our website, preventing fraud), consent (any marketing you opt in to — you can withdraw it at any time), and legal obligation (records we must keep).

Your designs stay confidential

Design files and artwork you send us are used only to produce your quote, sample or order. We do not publish, showcase or share client designs without written permission, and we do not resell or reuse your artwork.

Who we share information with

  • Shopify — our ecommerce platform and secure checkout (see privacy.shopify.com).
  • Payment providers — such as Shopify Payments and PayPal, to process your payment.
  • Couriers — such as DHL and FedEx, who receive your name, delivery address and phone number to deliver your order.
  • Form and file services — our website forms are delivered to our inbox via a form-processing service, and artwork uploads are stored with a secure file-hosting service.
  • WhatsApp (Meta) — if you choose to message us on WhatsApp, your messages are handled under WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy.
  • Our production facility — the team manufacturing your order receives the specification, sizing and artwork needed to make it.
  • Authorities — only where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information.

International transfers

Our UK team coordinates every order and our production facility operates outside the UK, so the order details needed for manufacturing are transferred internationally. We limit what is shared to what production requires and apply appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep quote and order information for as long as needed to provide our services, resolve any issues, and meet legal record-keeping requirements. Data that is no longer needed is deleted.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; or provide it to you in a portable format. You can also withdraw consent to marketing at any time. To exercise any right, email sales@denimbyte.com — we aim to respond within 48 hours. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

We use cookies required for the site and checkout to work, plus Shopify's platform analytics. You can manage cookies in your browser settings, and manage data-sharing preferences on our Your Privacy Choices page at denimbyte.com/pages/data-sharing-opt-out.

Children

Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We will post any updates on this page with a revised date at the top.
