Lower-Impact Fabrics
The fabric is where most of a garment's footprint is decided. Conventional cotton is thirsty — growing enough for a single t-shirt can take around 2,700 litres of water, and the crop accounts for a large share of the world's insecticide use. Organic cotton is grown without those synthetic pesticides and fertilisers, while recycled polyester (rPET), spun from post-consumer plastic bottles, typically uses 30–50% less energy than virgin polyester. We can source these lower-impact options on request — send your target fabric or a reference and we'll quote the closest responsible match.
Less Waste
Made to Order, Not to Landfill
Overproduction is fashion's quiet emergency: the equivalent of a rubbish truck of textiles is landfilled or burned every second, and much of it is stock that was made but never sold. Custom manufacturing sidesteps that by design — you order the quantities you actually need, so nothing is produced speculatively to sit in a warehouse and eventually be written off. On the floor, efficient pattern nesting keeps fabric offcuts to a minimum, and one approved sample means we cut it right the first time.
Denim Wash Options
Lower-Water Denim Finishing
Denim's environmental cost sits mostly in the finishing. A traditional stonewash leans on water, chemicals and pumice stones to soften and fade the fabric. Newer routes do the same job with a fraction of the resources — ozone washing and laser distressing can remove up to around 80% of the water and 70% of the chemicals a conventional wash needs, while still hitting a genuine worn-in look. For denim and garment-dyed pieces we can finish your order this way — just ask what's possible for the wash you have in mind.
Packaging Options
Plastic-Free Packaging
Packaging is the last thing your customer touches — and often the first thing they throw away. Most garments still ship in conventional plastic polybags that take centuries to break down, but the alternatives have caught up. We can pack and finish your order with recycled and plastic-free materials — compostable or biodegradable polybags, recycled tissue paper, and recycled-card hang tags printed with soy-based inks — so the unboxing reflects your brand's values rather than undercutting them. Transparency
Transparency Over Box-Ticking
The most sustainable claim is the one you can actually back up. Plenty of factories advertise certifications and audits they can't evidence — we'd rather be straight with you. We're a direct line to the people making your garments, with no agents in between, so if your brand works to specific labour or sourcing standards we can talk openly about exactly how and where your order is produced. We don't currently hold third-party ethical certifications such as GOTS, and we won't claim any we don't have; what we offer instead is access, honesty, and a sample in your hands before you commit to anything.
